Full-Time Commercial Lender - Lakeville, MN / Apple Valley, MN
Sterling State Bank is looking to expand our commercial lending department in both our Lakeville, MN and Apple Valley, MN offices.
Are you a Commercial Lender ready to take the next step in your career? Sterling State Bank is growing and hiring in our Twin Cities markets. Responsibilities include generating new business relationships including consumer and commercial deposit and loan clients, maintaining and enhancing current relationships and new account administration.
Additional responsibilities and skills required include:
- Responsibility for developing a quality commercial customer portfolio and managing the customer relationship. This also includes underwriting, structuring and closing loans and achieving sales objectives.
- A willingness to participate in marketing strategy for commercial loan origination as needed.
- Preparing loan packages that meet the Bank's underwriting standards.
- Monitoring and managing delinquent credits in the portfolio.
- Developing business and community relationships and participating in community activities and organizations to increase the Bank's visibility.
- Recognizing opportunities and making referrals for other banking services and products.
Ideal candidates will possess some of the following experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field is preferred.
- Previous commercial lending experience is required.
- A minimum of 5 years' commercial lending experience is preferred.
- Effective sales ability and persuasiveness
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in bank information systems and standard business software.

Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Insurance Agent to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying client needs, offering tailored insurance solutions, and maintaining strong client relationships. This position requires a proactive approach to sales, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a self-paced environment.
Additional responsibilities and skills required include:
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their unique insurance needs.
- Policy Sales: Present and sell insurance policies, including auto, home, and commercial insurance.
- Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough insurance needs assessments to recommend appropriate coverage.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting clients with policy renewals, claims, and other insurance-related inquiries.
- Lead Generation: Proactively seek out new clients through referrals, networking, and other business development strategies.
- Product Knowledge: Stay informed about insurance products, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to provide accurate and up-to-date information to clients.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, policy details, and sales activities in our agency management system.
Qualifications:
- License: Must hold a current Minnesota insurance license or be willing to obtain one.
- Experience: Previous experience in insurance sales or customer service is required.
- Bilingual: Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
- Self-motivated with a drive to succeed in a sales environment.
- Proficient in using technology, including CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a college degree in business, finance, or a related field is a plus.
